Recommendations for animal types:
Small – Sheep / Goats / Pigs
- 5’6” length posts, making 4’ high fence
- 3” diameter posts, or equivalent metal / plastic
- 800mm – 900mm high Stock Netting
- 1 or 2 top wire lines; plain or barbed
- Stake centres; 2 metres for low tensile stock fence / 4 metres for high tensile stock fence
Large – Cattle
- As above, but using 4” diameter posts, or equivalent metal / plastic
Tall – Deer / Llama / Ostrich
- 10’ length posts, making 8’ high fence
- 3” or 4” diameter posts, or equivalent metal / plastic
- 1900mm high Stock Netting
- Stake centres; 2 metres for low tensile stock fence / 4 metres for high tensile stock fence
Horses / Donkeys
- 5’6” length posts, making 4’ high fence
- 3” diameter posts, or equivalent metal / plastic
- 900mm – 1250mm high Stock Netting
- Top wire lines; plain, barbed or electric
- Stake centres; 2-3 metres
Poultry / Game / Small Furries
- Post length is species dependent;
- 2” or 3” diameter posts, or equivalent metal / plastic
- Stock Netting; lightweight with diameter dependent upon species. Option to bury to prevent burrowing predators.
